Born March 27th 1976.

 

Anders Eidsten Dahl has studied churchmusic and organ at The Norwegian State Academy of Music (1995 - 2001), with the degree of Lower diploma of Music performance (Canditatus Magisteri) (1999), and Candidatus Musicae (The "Soloist class") (2001). His organ teachers at The Norwegian State Academy of Music were Terje Winge and Kåre Nordstoga. He studied cembalo with Knut Johannessen and piano with Kaare Ørnung.

 

Anders Eidsten Dahl has also studied at The Royal Danish Academy of Music, at the "Soloist class" with professor Hans Fagius as teacher (2001 - 2003).

 

Dahl has also been to courses and Master Classes with musicians like: Olivier Latry, Ralph Gustavsson, Hans Hellsten, Arvid Gast, Gillian Weir.

 

In 2000 and 2001 he was soloist with The Norwegian State Academy of Musics Chamber orchestra, and "Drammen Byorkester" in F. Poulencs organ-concerto in g-minor.

 

The autumn 2003 he held his debut concertos in Copenhagen and Oslo.

 

He has also played solo-recitals in festivals in cathedrals in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Austria and England.

 

Dahl has been attended to international organ competitions in Erfurt, Odense, Dublin and Brügge. Summer 2002 he was a finalist in the "2. International organ competition" in Erfurt, Germany.

 

He works with different musicians and choirs; in June 2001 he played with "St. Halvard Guttene" on a tour in Krakow, Poland, and spring 2000 he received a stipend from Philips Petroleum together with the trombone player Marius Hesby.

 

The autumn 2003 he received the prestigious "TICON music price".

 

Dahl has since 2001 worked as an organist in Bragernes church in Drammen, Norway, where he regularly gives recitals, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician.

In 2009 he released his first solo recording on the Norwegian record label LAWO Classics. His second solo recording "Johannes Brahms Organ Works" is also on the label LAWO Classics.

Anders Eidsten Dahl is a recipient of Norway´s Government Grants for Artists for 2011 and 2012.
