Biography
Caroline Eidsten Dahl, born on the 19th of November 1980 in Drammen, Norway.
Caroline studied the recorder with Frode Thorsen at The Grieg Academy; Institute of Music in Bergen, Norway and finished her bachelor degree at the same place in June, 2003.
 
In 2001 she started a parallel course at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Dan Laurin as her teacher. She finished her bachelor degree at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm in May 2004.
 
In August 2004 Caroline started a Post Graduate course at the same school that she finished with a Diploma Concert in The German Church in October, 2006.
 
Caroline has attended to several masterclasses; with Andrew Manze, Nigel North, Ashley Solomon, Daniel Brüggen, Marion Verbruggen, Han Tol, Markus Zahnhausen and Peter Holtslag. Caroline got a third place with her recorder quartet at the E.R.T.A. "Yamaha Recorder Ensemble Competition" in Cambridge 1998.
 
Caroline has received scholarships from Ticon Music Scholarship, "Griegakademiet; Institutt for Musikk" in Bergen, "Kungliga Musikhögskolan" in Stockholm, "Kungliga Musikaliska Akademien", etc. Caroline is one of the winners of "Intro Klassisk", a two-year concert programme with Rikskonsertene, Norway.
 
Caroline is active both as a soloist and chamber musician in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and England with different ensembles. She has been a soloist with the Norwegian orchestra "Bergen Kammerensemble" and the Swedish baroque orchestra "Drottningholms Barockenensemble". In April 2006 she performed as a soloist with Dan Laurin in Kristiansand, Norway in J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.4. She played the same piece at the "Halvorsen Musikkfest"- festival in Drammen, June 2006 with Jon Gjesme and Alexandra Opsahl.
